Losane Retta is the Humanitarian Operations and Information Coordinator at CARE International.
In her capacity as Coordinator, Losane ensures that global humanitarian and emergency response information is timely, accurate and measurable. She leads in the preparation of key reports and analysis, provides close support to countries and coordinates global fundraising endeavours.
Losane has over two decades of experience working in various senior positions, handling several emergency responses on the ground and at headquarters level. She brings more than 20 years’ experience in emergency operations, of which 8 years were spent with MSF-Swiss in Ethiopia, Angola and Cameroon as Country Administrator and Deputy Country Director, where she was responsible for managing budget/finance, fundraising, human resources and logistics units.
In 2004, Losane joined the WHO office in Nigeria as a consultant, to oversee and put in place a management system for the European Union grant, allocated for the National and Sub-National Immunisation programmes. Following this assignment, Losane was appointed as Technical Officer for WHO D.R. Congo, in charge of Finance, Budget and Operations for the Country Immunisation Programs.
Losane also engages and represents CARE in various global humanitarian forums in Geneva.
Losane holds a master’s degree in History from the University of Saint-Etienne (France).
