Assistant professor at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Geneva, Switzerland

Aurélie Picton is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Geneva (Department of Translation Technology, referred to by its French acronym TIM). She teaches courses in terminology, applied lexicology, languages for special purposes and corpora for translation. She obtained her PhD in Linguistics in 2009, at the University of Toulouse (CLLE-ERSS, scholarship from the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and the French national space agency (Cnes)). She held several post-doctoral positions, at the Observatoire de linguistique Sens-Texte (OLST, Department of Linguistics and Translation, University of Montreal) and at the Institut universitaire de formation de maîtres (IUFM, University of Toulouse). Her research interests include: (diachronic) variation in terminology, textual terminology, corpus linguistics for translation and terminology and Natural Language Processing tools.
